Northville Central School (grades K-12)


The Northampton Beach is located on State Route 30 about 300 yards north of the bridge into Northville.  It is open from late June until Late August -- normal hours are 1:00PM - 6:00 PM.  Lifeguards are on duty during these hours.

A permit is required for using the beach and can be purchased at the Town Offices at 412 South Main Street in Northville.

Curbside Recycling

Recyclables are picked up curbside on the first and third Wednesday of each month.  Recyclables are also accepted at the transfer station on Mondays (8am-4pm), Tuesdays (8am-4pm) & Saturdays (8am-1pm).  Electronics are also accepted at the Transfer Station during these times.  Permit is required for dropping off Recyclables. A permit is not required to drop off Electronics, vehicle batteries, textiles, and motor oil.


Singlestream Recycling requires all items are mixed loose in one container. A 35-gallon or smaller can with tight fitting lid works best. Bin should be marked with a big "R" painted on sides - or call the Recycling Info-Line at 518-736-5504 or call the Town Clerk's Office at 518-863-4040 ext. 22 for a Recycle Decal.



The Northville Public Library is located at 341 South Third Street in Northville.  The hours of operation are listed below, but books may be dropped off anytime using the book drop slot to the left of the entrance.  You can learn more about the library from their website.

Post Office

The Post Office is located at 151 North Main Street in Northville.  The telephone number is 863-8944 and the hours are as follows:

Monday - Friday:
     Lobby Hours 7:30AM - 5:30PM
     Window Hours  9:00AM - 1:00PM, 2:30PM - 5:00PM

     Lobby Hours  7:30AM - 12:30PM
     Window Hours  9:00AM - Noon

Sunday:  Closed

Transfer Station

The transfer station is located on the Northville-Edinburg road next to the Northampton Town Garage.  Permits are required to use the transfer station and can be purchased at the Town Offices at 412 South Main Street in Northville.  The permit cost is $10 for cars and trucks and needs to be renewed each January.  The permits must be affixed in a rear, driver's side window of the car/truck.

The station accepts household garbage in clear plastic bags only.  There is a hardfill site located behind the transfer station which is open during normal hours from Late April until Late November (weather permitting).

Effective January 1, 2005, tires and freon containing units are no longer accepted at the transfer station.  They must be brought to the Fulton County Landfill (847 Mud Rd, Johnstown, NY).  There will be a $5 charge per freon containing unit and residents must provide proof of Fulton County residency when dropping off.  For tires, the fees are: $3 per tire up to 16", $5.00 per tire between 16.5" and 21", and $13.00 per tire between 21.5" and 24.5", over 24.5" bulk only by weight at $350.00 per ton.  You can call the Fulton County Department of Solid Waste at 736-5501 for more information on these policies.
