Now that the Fourth of July holiday is behind us, we hope that everyone enjoyed the festivities and the fabulous fireworks displays around the Lake every evening.  The persistent occasional drizzles of rain didn’t seem to hamper the traditional holiday spirit and family gatherings.

COMPUTER, MONITOR AND PRINTER DISPOSAL

Now’s the time to dispose of your old and discarded computers, printers, terminals, monitors and other computer peripherals without having to haul them to the Department of Solid Waste in Johnstown.  As a convenience to Town of Northampton and Village of Northville Residents, these items may be dropped off at the Village Garages on North 3rd Street in Northville..  Arrangements have been made with the County to allow us to collect these items locally, where they will be transported to Johnstown prior to the regular County Household Waste and Electronics collection drop-off day on Saturday, August 11th 7:00 to noon.  Take advantage of this free drop-off and the opportunity to clean house!

WIRELESS NETWORK COMING TO THE VILLAGE

Richard Morrison will be installing a wireless internet access network for the residents within the Village of Northville.  The Town gave permission to install an antenna and radio receiver on the Bradt Municipal Office Building to help the rest of the networking of the proposed WiFi System.  Installations of antennas and radios have been completed at the Public Library, the Northville School, and the Village Garage at South Third Street.  Addition locations are anticipated along Main Street for the completion of the network.  Once it is up and running, the service will be free to Village Residents.  We will keep you updated as the network is established and up and running.

REMINDERS FOR GARBAGE AND RECYCLING COLLECTION

Now that the summer is upon us, along with the increase in garbage, we are receiving a large number of complaints of garbage bags ripped open and scattered along the roadside.  We will remind residents (and visitors as well) of our policy (as well as our Property Maintenance Law litter section) that ALL garbage must be bagged in a heavyweight clear or transparent bag and placed in an enclosed container roadside by 6:30 AM.  No loose materials are to be placed in containers; garbage in dark bags or loose garbage will not be picked up.  All garbage must be placed by the roadside no more than 24 hours prior to scheduled pickup and containers are to be removed by noon the following day.  Pick-up day for the Town is Mondays, Tuesdays for the Village.  Recyclables  are  picked up early AM by the County  on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month.  Please do not put recycling items into the regular garbage (including water bottles).
