COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE

The Planning Board has been working for several months on recommendations from the Town Board on the Draft Plan that was previously submitted to the Town.  They have now presented the revised Draft Comprehensive Plan to the Town Board.  The Board will now review the revised version and vote on it.   Once we have a final adopted plan, we will be able to begin the work needed to update our old zoning laws.  The revised Draft Plan will be posted on the website in the near future.

HISTORIC RESOURSES INVENTORY PROJECT MEETING PLANNED

A meeting will be held on November 8th, at 10:30 am at the Bradt Municipal Building to discuss options, budgeting and funding for the project of creating an inventory of Historic Resources within the Town and Village.   The Fulton County and Northampton Historians, Steve Englehart of AARCH and Ray Smith of SHPO will be in attendance along with members of the Historic Landmark Commission.

SACANDAGA PARK WATER & SEWER PROJECT

On Friday, October 19th, the engineering firm of AES Northeast met with the Town Board, Jason Denno of Environmental Facilities Corp., our Water and Sewer operator and Highway Superintendent to present their findings and recommendations for the existing water and sewer system within the Park.  The report on the Sewer is finalized, the report for the Water in nearing completion.  As with any old system, the engineers discovered more problems than were originally anticipated.  The Board and key personnel unanimously decided that a long- range repair and replacement plan and up-grades for both systems, in phases, is the only logical approach.  The engineers will now complete the final report, which we will need in order to pursue further funding and grant opportunities.
