Brrrrrrrrrr, is it cold!!  This month we don’t have a lot going on to report, so I’m giving Doug a break on his newsletter space.   We all have been busy with training seminars and conferences.  Four members of the Town Council recently attended the Association of Towns training seminar for newly elected officials in Albany.   Twelve members of our Town planning, zoning and Town Board are scheduled for the upcoming planning and zoning conference in Saratoga on January 30^th.   I will be out of the office for a NYSAC (State Association of Counties) conference January 28^th thru 30^th . 

NEW TOWN BOARD MEMBER

Ivar Anderson began his new term as Councilman, taking Carl Reece’s place on the Board.

Carl did not seek re-election this past November, he was ready to retire and travel around after 27 years of dedicated service to the Town of Northampton.  The Town presented Carl with a plaque in appreciation and recognition of his many years of service to the Town.  We’ll miss you Carl and wish you best.  Enjoy your free time and, best of all, enjoy being able to sit at the rear of the room for any meetings that you attend !!    Welcome on board, Ivar.

COMREHENSIVE PLAN APPROVED

The Town Board has approved the revised Comprehensive Plan as presented by the Planning Board with minor corrections made to it.  Now that it is approved, our plan is to establish a Zoning committee to begin working on revising and updating our old Zoning Ordinances and Maps in accordance with the new Comprehensive Plan.  We thank everyone who worked so hard on producing the draft plan and for the many hours and endless meetings that the planning board members put into creating the plan.  Many thanks to members of the public for their valuable input into the plan.

UPCOMING VACANCIES ON BOARDS

We still have vacancies on the Town Planning Board and the Northville/Northampton Historic Landmark Commission.  The Planning Board has two positions and one alternate to fill, the Landmark Commission has one position available.  Persons interested in serving on either of these boards are asked to send a letter of interest addressed to the Town Clerk at PO Box 479, Northville.

NOTES:  Due to conflicting schedules and conferences, our regular February Town Board Meeting scheduled for February 20^th has been rescheduled for February 26^th at 6:30 pm.

-Our Town Board Meetings will now begin at 6:30 instead of 7:00 pm

-Star applications are due by March 1^st

-Applications for HEAP are available by contacting the Office for the Aging

-The Supervisor will be out of the office from February 1^st to the 13^th.  The Clerk will have my contact numbers.

-Our Town Board minutes are available on the web site.
